cheers for Stacey Sibley. I admire and applaud her moral courage to take on this issue and stand firm. For over 15 years PPS administration has lost it’s focus on what is right and good for the children. Instead, top and middle adminstrators, yes the very ones who have bloated salaries, have questioned, harrassed, and maintained a hostile work environment for those, ( particularly white, middle age, highly educated women), who choose to continue the good work for students who have special needs and living in poverty. I have observed others and myself subjected to harrassment, disrespect, and hostility. When I spoke to my supervisor’s supervisor about the hostile work environment I was working in, he did not follow through with my complaint.
When I went to HR about the hostile work environment, my position was eliminated two weeks later.Through Ms. Sibley’s determination and courage,(it is difficult to work in PPS”S toxic environment), the public is getting a glimpse of the atrocities that occurr daily at the big ORANGE building, BESC.
It is not only white, middle-age, highly educated women, but women and men of color from within and outside of the community have suffered the humiliation of poor performance reviews and working in a hostile environment over several decades now. I’m glad that Ms. Settlegood (1985), Ms. Sibley and Ms. Fernandez have decided to take a stand and bring the issues to the light of day!
