Zarwen, Yes we still plan to move forward on our plan to change the boundaries.

The Tax Supervising and Conservation Commission questioned PPS CFO, Carole Smith and David Wynde prior to the start of the school board meeting Monday. They asked about the possible boundary change and David Wynde said that PPS values all students and the district would fight any attempt to secede.

We don't believe that the district values all students. It was clear that the PPS board was ok with letting Marshall close.

At this point PPS counselors have already met with Marshall feeder students and forecasted them to Franklin, Madison or Cleveland. They did this despite the fact that the board hadn't approved the school closures. Last night Carole left the door open for freshmen to follow that path. This hurts Marshall.

I really don't care which district (David Douglas or PPS) serves Marshall kids...only that they're well-served. From everything I've seen David Douglas is most likely to do that.

Carrie,

Does the Marshall community still plan to go forward in spite of the "freeze" that was announced last night?
