Zarwen, the data in the report is really 2 years old (class of 2007) since 2010 rates haven't been calculated yet. Oregon Department of Education's most recent AYP reports (2008/09 based on 2007/08 data) show David Douglas graduation rates at 77% and PPS at 68.5%.

David Douglas population has changed significantly over the last 10 years since many low-income families displaced from north and NE Portland have moved east. The district has about 4 times the number of ESL, poor and students of color that it did 10 years ago.

City leaders fail to acknowledge the needs of east Portland and this area of town doesn't get the same level of resources PPS does to address some of the challenges.

Carrie,

While laudable, these figures are 3 years old. Is there any data showing that they have maintained these excellent results?
